Where can you use these codes?

An honest overview. Every platform has its own rules: read them before you list a product.

Unbranded only

Amazon

For generic, unbranded products. With a brand name Amazon checks GS1 data: use GS1, a GTIN exemption or Brand Registry instead.

Suitable

eBay

Enter the EAN in the item specifics. eBay also accepts "Does not apply" if you have no code.

Suitable

Google Shopping

Google wants a valid GTIN with a correct check digit. Products of your own brand may also be listed without one.

Suitable

OnBuy, Kaufland and other marketplaces

Most marketplaces ask for a unique 13-digit EAN per product. Every variant gets its own code. Check each platform's brand rules.

Suitable

Your own webshop and till

Shopify, WooCommerce or your EPOS: the codes work for stock, scanning and your product feed.

Needs GS1

Supermarkets and retail chains

Large retailers ask for GS1 codes registered to your company. For that you need a GS1 membership.

Our codes are valid EAN-13 numbers and are never sold twice. They are not registered to you in the GS1 database.

Questions about EAN codes

How fast do I get my codes?

Right after your payment is confirmed – usually within a minute or two – by email. They are also always in your account.

Where can I use the codes?

For unbranded products on Google Shopping, eBay, Amazon (generic listings), in your webshop and with a barcode scanner in your shop. Selling under your own brand? Amazon then needs GS1 codes, a GTIN exemption or Brand Registry, and bol.com needs GS1. Supermarkets and retail chains always ask for GS1.

How is this different from GS1?

GS1 gives companies their own number range for a yearly membership fee. Our codes are valid EAN-13 numbers without membership or yearly costs. Some retailers require GS1 membership.

How many codes do I need?

One per product variant. A T-shirt in 3 sizes and 2 colours needs 6 codes.

Do I get an invoice?

Yes, every order comes with a VAT invoice in your account. Ordering for a business? Add your company name and VAT number at checkout.

What if a code doesn’t work?

Contact us. If a platform refuses a code, send us a screenshot of their message and we will send new codes or refund you (see our terms).
